The Christian Reformed Conference Grounds (CRCG) is located in Grand Haven, Michigan on gorgeous Lake Michigan.

 CAMPSITES

This private campground is one-of-a-kind!  Most campsites are handicap accessible, and feature electrical, water, and sewage hook-ups.  This vehicle-free campground (all cars park in several close designated parking lots) is extra safe for playing children.  Biking, skateboarding, scooters, are more than welcome!

COTTAGES

Perhaps staying in a cottage is more your thing.  Forget the hassle of packing and towing a camper.  Instead, put your feet up in a gorgeous two-story cottage.

PLAYGROUND

My children LOVE the playground.  A recent addition makes it one of their favorite places in the campground.  A smaller version for the little ones is available close by.  Immediately next to the playground is a clean bathhouse with showers, bathrooms, and a large laundry room.  Huge windows overlook the playground, allowing busy parents the opportunity to catch up on laundry while monitoring their playing children.

GAMES

Many fun games are available for families to utilize: soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, three heated pools, tether ball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, frisbee gold, hay-rides, arts and crafts, and family center (indoor gym, upstairs has ping-pong, air hockey, fuze ball).  The campground staff schedule many supervised activities for children during the day.

CANDY STORE/OFFICE

Who can live without a candy store. My kids assure me that they can’t.  Fortunately, this store has something for everyone.  Candy for the kids, a grill for parents, ice-cream for those hot and humid days, and FRESH pie.   Really!!!  Pie.  YUM.

POOL

A life-guard-supervised pool (heated) for water lovers, a separate hot tub for adults, and a wading pool for the littlest of children is another amazing amenity.

GAZEBO

Many weddings take place in this fabulous Gazebo which overlooks Lake Michigan.  Flowers cascade beside a beautiful wood-chip path and well-groomed landscape.

BEACH

Street lamps and blossoming flowers line the walkway (adjacent to the Gazebo) which leads to the beach.

A set of stairs and two large platforms overlook an expansive sandy beach!

CHURCH

Every Sunday, CRCG holds a laid-back, everyone-welcome, church service with lots of praise and worship, an age-appropriate children’s message, and uplifting sermon.  Coffee, fellowship, and goodies are available afterwards.

PRAYER CHAPEL

Or perhaps a visit to the prayer chapel for some alone time with God is appealing.

SUNSETS

An evening stroll at night, admiring the sun, is always a favorite.  Beautiful sunsets which reflect across the lake lures the soul and satisfies the mind.

On a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 is poor, 3 is average, and 5 is amazing, I’d rate this campground at a 4.5.  The staff and volunteers are friendly and inviting.  The bathrooms and buildings are CLEAN.  The activities for children and families are plentiful.  The amenities are amazing.  The only thing this campground lacks are several decent hiking trails.  The long walk to the beach and lack of private sites would also be a downfall for some.  However, it is definitely worth the camping experience.
